oh money troubles.

So the pressure is on for me to find a "real" job. I guess I will succumb to either a grocery store or retail store. They hire anyone who can pass a pee test, right?

snickerdoodle

Well, I got home last night to a mess. The boy didn't do anything when he got home from work. But that's okay. So I woke up early and caught up on all the wash and dishes. Then I got the bright idea to make some cookies. I found a recipe on Marthastewart.com, and I am not that impressed with it. It is a bit too sugary, and it isn't as fluffy and soft as it should be. But I was able to use my kitchenaid mixer and that was awesome. I love that thing. I think I will make chocolate chip cookies tomorrow.

living the high life

Well, let me say, I had the best weekend. I went solo to Vegas for my future sister-in-law's graduation! Horray she is done with school forever! While I was there I lost $15 dollars in gambling (yeah I know I am not a high stakes girl), saw a fashion show, ate delicious godiva, had a royal Italian feast, and went to The Revolution as a VIP guest.

Let me tell you about that last part because that was the most FANTASTIC part of the trip. Ryan (my brother), Ang, me, and Matt left to meet up with Ang's sister and friends at the Revolution on the strip. We arrived around 11 and were escorted by two body guards to the lounge. (This in itself, is worth getting the vip lounge--no one bumped us or anything! The waters just parted). Then we were greeted by our own personal bouncer who looked like Big from Rob and Big. By the way, he was super fast at unhooking the rope, a couple times I was shocked and amazed by it. Although that could have been the alcohol delay.

Anyway, our bouncer gave us these cool little bracelets to wear to identify us as his sheep to watch. The lounge was awesome in itself, it had low sleek chairs that wrapped around the best tables in the world. There were four booths with tables, each with its own bartender. The tables were, oh I don't know the technical terms, but you could drag your finger on the surface and butterflies, flowers, people, rainbows, bubbles whatever it fancied would pop up. In other words, YOU COULD DRAW ON THE TABLE.

Besides, the awesome bouncer, bartenders, and awesome space, there was dancing room, an area to dance on the benches (ang made quite a bite of money from the peasant folk). Needless to say, That is how I like to club. Oh there was even a window to the D.J. so we could tell him what to play. It was a really great night. And that is the way to live. hah. It also cost someone 6k. So thank you mystery person who paid for it. I am glad you had a birthday and I was invited.

a brief reflection

I have almost been married a month now. It feels weird living on my own and taking care of a grown man. It really hit me hard on our honeymoon when I realized I couldn't go back to childhood. I was super nervous about my relationship with my parents. I wasn't sure how it would be with them. Would they act the same? Luckily, they have.

So the last few weeks have been spent unpacking and putting things in the "perfect" spot, oh and shopping at the dollar store. By the way, the dollar tree store is an amazing place. They also have all sorts of cards (birthday, graduation, mothers day, thanks, ect.!) for 50 cents each! I love that store. Oh and tons of storage bins for a dollar. Anyway, life has been pretty lush. It is just hard to adjust. At least I feel like the house is home now.

I was unpacking boxes the other day that my mother had rashly boxed for me. I had about six childhood memory boxes filled with highschool notes, pictures, weird odd objects that had sentimental value, and love letters. It was hard going through it. However, I knew I had to get rid of half the stuff. And being the person I am, I threw it all in the recycle bin (since it was paper and all). The next day was recycle pick up and Ryan took the bin out that night to be collected. A huge wind storm blew through early morning. Our roof makes this eerie howling noise whenever there is high winds and it woke me up. I looked out the window and all the recycle cans were knocked over with paper flying out as if they had been freed from prison. I didn't really think anything of it at the time. When I finally made my way downstairs to the kitchen I looked out the window and saw my valentines day letters circling the yard as if they were dancing. I ran upstairs to get my shoes and then ran back out to the garage. The wind was so strong a cardboard box I tried to pick up was ripped from my hands and almost hit a car ten feet away. Long story short, I moved the recycle bin into the garage then wandered the streets collecting my memories out of bushes, front doorsteps, and gravel. I wanted to get rid of those things, but it really hurt to see them cast about in the wind, being taken to who knows where, where anyone could see my private young life. It put things into perspective too. Those things are gone and I am left with empty boxes to fill.

And yet at the same time I feel like I need to thank and say I love you to all my friends who had such an impact in my life: to people who filled my early days with such good memories. Thank you Ashley, Erik, Steve, Stephanies', Kim, Chuck, Ryans', Dusty, Kyle, Danielle, Sharon. And thank you.

a new beginning

So, after seeing my friend Sarah's blog, I've been inspired to start over on blogspot. Livejournal was sooo four years ago anyway.

More updates to follow. In the meantime I am going to design a more intimate page.
